HOLKER Old Boys face a wait to see whether their scheduled game away to Bacup Borough will be going ahead as the hosts try to repair their changing facilities.
Bacup’s Brian Boys West View Stadium was hit hard by Storm Erik last week, with high winds tearing the roof off the changing rooms.
The non-League football community has rallied around to support the club and repairs are taking place to ensure Borough’s scheduled three back-to-back home games can go ahead.
The first of those matches is due to be at home to Holker tomorrow and will depend on whether the repair work is completed in time.
Should the game go ahead, Old Boys will be hoping for a repeat of earlier in the season when they scored a 2-1 win over Bacup at Rakesmoor Lane.
A double from JP Stanway secured the win that day, while Kevin Watkin’s side are aiming to rebound from a 2-0 defeat at home to Shelley last Saturday.
The entire Furness Premier League Premier Division programme was wiped out last Saturday, but tomorrow sees Kirkby United have the chance to return to the top of the table if they can win away to Holker reserves, with leaders Bootle not in action.
There is an important match at the top of Division One, with leaders British Legion at home to second-placed Hawcoat Park A.
The five ties in the first round of the Furness Junior Cup take place as well.
It has been requested all FPL clubs hold a minute's silence prior to kick-of to honour former Dalton United and Vickerstown manager Mark Craig.
