Celebrity Race Across the World is back for a new season, with four new famous faces, including BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and broadcaster Jeff Brazier, set to take on the challenge.

The celebrities will say goodbye to lavish transport, smartphones and bank cards and instead must rely on their skills, cunning and ingenuity as well as the kindness of strangers in the new series of the popular BBC reality series.

Chief Creative Officer at Studio Lambert, Tim Harcourt, said: “After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series, and more recently the fourth series of the regular series - we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery, in a race which will push our celebrities and their loved ones to their absolute limits.”

Who is on Celebrity Race Across the World?

Series one of Celebrity Race Across the World featured Harry Judd (McFly drummer), Billy Monger (British racing driver and pundit), Mel Blatt (singer-songwriter) and eventual winner Alex Beresford (broadcaster).

Series two will feature four new famous faces (accompanied by a loved one):

  • Broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy
  • Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen
  • Model/Broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy
  • Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam

The four teams will begin in Belém, Northern Brazil - "the gateway to the Amazon".

The new series will then see them pass through five checkpoints across the length of South America, before reaching the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

Series two of Celebrity Race Across the World begins on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday (August 14) at 9pm.
