Hawkshead Agricultural Show - which was to be staged tomorrow - has been cancelled due to the torrential rain.
Organisers have said that the ground conditions will be too wet to get vehicles on and off the village show field.
The show's Facebook page says: "Following the torrential rain last night and this morning the decision has been made to CANCEL this years show. With more rain forecast tonight the decision has been made that ground conditions are to wet to get vehicles safely on and off the field. This has been a difficult decision to make as a huge amount of work and cost has gone in to getting the show to this stage. We are sorry for the inconvenience but hope you will understand. We look forward to your continued support in 2017. Please spread the word. Thanks."
