ONE of South Cumbria's busiest roads is believed to be clear following an accident involving an overturned caravan this afternoon.
The caravan was seen on its side on the eastbound carriageway of the A590 at Lindale Hill at around 2.40pm, forcing police to close one lane.
It is understood both the vehicle and caravan have now been recovered. Cumbria police were on the scene to marshal traffic past the site and to help clear the vehicle and debris, including broken pieces of metal and plastic from the road.
Major traffic delays were reported in the area as motorists travelling towards the M6 were forced to queue.
