A BARROW man has admitted sending images of his genitals to a child decoy.

Darren Richmond, of Devon Street, pleaded guilty to four counts of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The 41-year-old admitted he committed two offences on September 15, as well as on September 18 and September 19, to obtain sexual gratification.

The charges say he intentionally attempted to communicate with an adult posing as a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over and that the communication was sexual.

Magistrates committed the case to Preston Crown Court due to insufficient sentencing powers.

He was remanded into custody and will be sentenced by a Crown Court judge on November 1.
