A COLLEGE community has paid tribute to a "lovely" and "popular" student.
Christian Pay, 18, of Millom died at Cumberland Infirmary on Friday after falling ill at Kendal Calling.
Police believe that the teenager took some form of drug at the festival.
Christian, a motor vehicle student at Furness College, in Barrow was described as a "fun, fun guy" and "such a nice person", by his mother, Debbie Pay.
Also paying tribute, Mark Nicholson, the interim Furness College Principal said: “Staff at Furness College are deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Christian Pay. Christian had been at the college for two years and he will be sadly missed by his fellow students and staff.”
Shane Rothery, a motor vehicle lecturer at the college said:”Christian was a lovely student who was really popular with his classmates. He worked hard and will be greatly missed. We will be taking the whole class to attend his funeral."
