THE owners of a beautiful black cat have spoken of their relief after their pet returned home.
Friendly kitten, Doreen, disappeared from her Mount Pleasant home in the early hours of Wednesday morning and her owners are starting to fear the worst after her four-day absence.
Doreen went missing from her Mount Pleasant home on Wednesday June 22. The 10-month old cat was described by her owners, Brian and Sarah Smith, as a "mischievous, independent" pet who adores her adoptive family.
Mr Smith was puzzled by her disappearance saying it is completely out of character.
He said: "My wife went downstairs at around 4.00am on Wednesday to get a drink and she was here then but that was the last time we saw her.
"She was jumping around being normal and happy with us.
"It's never happened before. She's never gone anywhere before."
Doreen has been described as a black cat with a bit of brown under her chin.
She also has a few white speckles on her and a white heart on her tummy and big, green eyes.
Mr Smith said: "We've been all through the streets putting posters up.
"We did have someone calling to say they had seen her in Park Avenue so we went there and it was the spitting image of her but it was a boy.
"We miss her so much. We just want her home. My wife is pregnant so is very emotional so we just want her home."
Doreen's owners offered a £50 reward in exchange for Doreen's safe return. They confirmed at 7am this morning that Doreen had returned home.
