A SECURITY company is looking to create jobs in Barrow and across south-west Cumbria.
Lingwood Security Management is expanding in Furness as a result of the huge amount of investment which has been committed to the area, particularly the commencement of the Barrow Waterfront project, which got underway last week.
The company is looking to build staff and customers around the Morcambe Bay area and wants to use local people to achieve this.
Alan Lingwood, the firm’s director, said: “Our company has identified growth opportunities on our western doorstep in south west Cumbria that add to our national portfolio of business and we are now recruiting to fulfil the security needs of our clients and to support local people by providing a range of secure job opportunities.”
The company has praised the levels of investment currently seen in energy, industrial and defence business projects and in health, housing and local business sectors in the Furness area.
It believes this has increased the demand for professional security services in order to keep things safe, protected and on track.
Lingwood Security has it headquarters in Morecambe and is 21-years-old this year, having been supplying security services since 1995.
Its service is mostly focused around security guarding, CCTV installation and monitoring.
It has a long list of clients in both the private and public sector.
These include Balfour Beatty, Network Rail, UK Power Networks, the NHS, Lakeland Ltd, Amey and Costain.
In the past the firm has also been used by DONG, EDF Energy, Amec Foster Wheeler and Morrison Utility Services.
