London's first-ever department store, Whiteley's, has undergone a Cumbrian transformation.
As part of a £1.2 billion redevelopment, the historic building now features Kirkby Blue Grey Slate from Cumbrian quarry owner Burlington Stone.
The slate has been used to clad the penthouses, which are on the market for up to £12 million each.
The development includes 139 residences, 20 shops, a café, restaurant, cinema, gym, library, hotel, and spa.
The five-year project by architects Foster and Partners, Finchatton Development Management, and investors MARK and CC Land has drawn international interest.
The penthouses have been described as "the crowning jewel of this historic development" by Country & Town House magazine.
Burlington Stone supplied the slate to cladding contractor Vetter UK.
Richard Page, managing director of Burlington Stone, said: "This is another fine example of the craftsmanship from the team at Burlington.
"I clearly recall seeing the cladding and copings being hand finished in our factory.
"The quality and care with which we treat every project we are involved with never ceases impress me.
"Burlington Stone has been in existence since 1843, our roofing and architectural products adorn some of the finest buildings in the land.
"I am proud to know the beautiful products from Burlington will be a key part of this famous London landmark for many generations to come.
