A MAN who assaulted a woman and damaged her phone has been sentenced.
Jack Kennedy was charged with assault and criminal damaged following an incident in Barrow on May 14.
The 30-year-old admitted both charges when he appeared before South Magistrates' Court.
Kennedy assaulted the victim by beating, the court was told.
He also destroyed her mobile phone, causing £500 worth of damage.
Kennedy, of Barrow's Holker Street, was sentenced to a 260-day rehabilitation programme by the court and banned from contact with the woman under the terms of a restraining order.
