An apparent 'security incident' that was reported at a Center Parcs site in Cumbria earlier this evening sparked panic among guests as they were reportedly told to evacuate.
A video posted on Twitter from the scene shows an alarm sounding at the Whinfell Forest site near Penrith after a message to evacuate was played to guests via the park's PA system on the evening of November 27.
A man at the scene said that a 'full evacuation' was taking place and that staff 'rushed everyone out of the building' during the 'security incident'.
Shortly before an evacuation message was played over the speakers, all the electricity went out and the emergency lighting turned on. Staff then rushed everyone out of the building. A staff member has told me ‘it is not a fire’ but ‘a security incident’. pic.twitter.com/xBOsmYN5uX
