A coffee shop that was opened by Waterloo and Casualty actress Holly Mathew has been nominated by The Mail readers for the Best South Cumbria Coffee Shop 2024 award.

Coffee D'Ash opened its first shop in Barrow town centre in September with a special VIP event after the popularity of its events coffee pod, which opened just under 18 months ago.

Ran by Ashley Holroyd and his wife Sarah, both 32, their coffee earned a great reputation at events, private parties and festivals throughout Cumbria, so the couple decided to go for their own bricks and mortar branch when the opportunity arose.

The pod still remains inside the coffee shop as a reminder of the couples' journey from where they started.

 

The shop's opening event saw plenty of food, fizz, live music and goodie bags handed out with TV star and author Holly sharing a video of her trip to Barrow on Instagram. 

Their 'coffee community' continues to grow from strength to strength and now The Mail readers have selected the business to be in the top ten finalists.

The ultimate champion will be revealed in December after two weeks of voting so readers are encouraged to vote now for their favourites.
