Cumbrians have been asked to not visit their loved ones in hospital if they're feeling unwell to help stop the spread of Norovirus.
North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) is reminding people to not visit their friends and family in hospital if they are presenting with symptoms of Norovirus.
Ward five at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven currently has an outbreak of the virus.
The main symptoms of Norovirus are vomiting, nausea, and diarrhoea but it also includes a headache, high temperature, and aching limbs.
NCIC said: "Norovirus is more serious for those already in hospital who are more vulnerable. It also contributes to staff sickness.
"You must wait until 48 hours after you stop showing symptoms before you visit loved ones in hospital."
Visiting information can be found online at www.ncic.nhs.uk.
