A MAN who admitted to using threatening / abusive words / behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress has been sentenced in court.
Joshua Silver, of Tay Court, pleaded guilty to the charge contrary to section 5 (1) and (6) of the Public Order Act 1986 when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on November 20.
With his guilty plea at the first opportunity, the 21-year-old conceded he had committed the offence on July 19 in Barrow within the hearing or sight of another person.
Magistrates fined Silver £80 and ordered that he pay court costs of £85 and a £32 surcharge.
