Staff and pupils at a Barrow nursery are celebrating after an Ofsted inspection rated it as 'Good' in all areas.

Since the last inspection in March 2022 found it required improvement, the school has successfully overhauled the quality of education that the children receive.

Co-heads Andrea Sweeting and Peter Mills took over the leadership of the Hindpool Nursery School in September last year.

Since then, the school has developed an ambitious curriculum for all areas of learning which is organised to enable children to build secure knowledge and skills from the beginning of the provision for two-year-old children.

Ofsted inspectors visited the nursery on October 15 and 16.

Their new report said 'children are happy at this friendly school. It is a welcoming place.'

"They know that caring staff will look after them, including when they need comfort or reassurance," it added.

Mrs Sweeting said: "It has been a busy 12 months but we are delighted that Ofsted have seen the positive change in our teacher led provision and agree that it is a fantastic place for children to lean and play together’.

"The children of Hindpool deserve the best possible start to life and we believe Hindpool Nursery can offer that.

"The nursery is growing and growing and our facilities are too; we recently invested in a ‘Super Buggy’ and a minibus so our children can learn outside the classroom and broaden their horizons, already this year we have been to the beach, the woods, the cinema and pumpkin picking."

Mr Mills added: "We welcome visits from new parents and families. Often parents don’t realise what funded places they are entitled to so if anyone is unsure about how to go about getting a nursery place they can give us a call or pop in to school, we can help with forms etc."
