Furness Coastguard was called to reports of a speedboat drifting in Walney Channel yesterday (November 17) with no-one on board.
The coastguard was called to check that no-one was injured or requiring medical attention.
A spokesperson for Furness Coastguard said: "The team arrived on site and noticed the boat appeared to have a broken side window, but the rear water-tight cover was still in place.

"A member of Barrow boat club took the vessel under tow and secured it to a mooring.
If you know the owner, please pass on this information."

A fisherman from Barrow Boat Club was reported to have taken the speedboat to a mooring to prevent damage to it or other vessels.
A spokesperson said: "If you own a boat, it would help if your name and contact number was clearly displayed in the window."
