A MAN who was stopped with part of a shear in Barrow has been sentenced.
Keith Andrew Phythian, of Egerton Court, had half a black pointed shear in his possession on Crellin Street without good reason or lawful authority on April 11 this year.
The 50-year-old was sentenced to a six-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on November 11 after previously pleading guilty to possessing a sharply pointed article in a public place.
As part of the order, Phythian was required to complete 20 rehabilitation requirement days.
Magistrates also ordered for forfeiture and destruction of the article.
Phythian must pat £85 in court costs and a £154 surcharge.
