An event in Barrow is hoping to put mental health centre stage as it encourages locals to unlock their creativity.
Organised by Mind in Furness and hosted by the Barrow Underground Music Society (BUMS), the poetry open mic night will take place on Thursday, December 12 from 7pm until 10pm.
This is building upon the success of the debut event that was organised in October, which raised awareness of mental health issues as well as bringing in donations for the charity.
A spokesperson said: "Whether you're a seasoned poet or just starting out, this event is the perfect opportunity to share your work in a supportive environment.
"Come listen to fellow poets, snap your fingers, and enjoy the mental health benefits of spoken word."
The night will once again be hosted by local poet Caleb Staps and will encourage people new to the scene to follow in his footsteps.
You can get your tickets here, with free admittance available for people on low incomes, which you can find out more about by contacting community@mindinfurness.org.uk.
