A Christmas market has been organised in Barrow this weekend to provide the perfect 'cosy' Saturday.

Organised by Westmorland and Furness Council and 'Love Barrow Libraries' in partnership with 'Furness 4 You', the event will take place on November 16 between 10am and 2pm at Barrow Library.

Enticing locals inside, the market will be providing free mince pies, hot chocolate, snacks, drinks and much more.

A spokesperson added: "We've got some super fun activities lined up, some amazing stalls selling homemade goodies, great organisations from across Barrow and some entertainment from a choir.

"Come and join us for our Christmas celebration at Barrow this Saturday."

A Christmas Fayre will also be taking place on Sunday, November 17 at the Walney Community Trust at Spring Mount Hall on Amphitrite Street.

This will run from 10.30am until 1.30pm and will cost 50p to enter on the day.
