VIOLENCE and sexual offences were by far the most reported type of offence committed in the districts of Barrow in September, crime maps have shown.
The Police UK website showed there were 247 violence and sexual offences reported out of an overall total of 567 crimes.
There were 74 offences of anti-social behaviour, 71 of criminal damage and arson and 42 reports of public order.

Salthouse, Newbarns and Roose - 196 offences
The area with the most crimes reported across the four different districts.
Of those crimes reported, there were 90 for violence and sexual offences, 30 for anti-social behaviour, 20 for criminal damage and arson with a further 16 for public order.
Other offences in the area included ‘other theft’ (12), shoplifting (6), drugs (5), vehicle crime (4), bicycle theft (4), possession of weapons (2), theft from a person (1) and burglary (1).
Barrow Central and Hindpool - 194 offences
Police reported 82 violence and sexual offences, 24 criminal damage and arson crimes and 22 instances of anti-social behaviour.
There were also 13 offences of public order, 12 drug crimes and a further 12 offences of ‘other theft’.
The remaining crimes include shoplifting (11), burglary (5), possession of weapons (4), vehicle crime (4), bicycle theft (2), other crime (2) and robbery (1).
Barrow Island and Walney - 102 offences
There were 41 for violence and sexual offences, 17 for criminal damage and arson with a further 15 for anti-social behaviour.
The remaining crimes constituted public order (8), ‘other theft’ (5), ‘other crime’ (4), drugs (3), possession of weapons (3), burglary (2), vehicle crime (2) and shoplifting (2).
Parkside, Hawcoat and Ormsgill - 75 offences
Data shows there were 34 violence and sexual offences recorded, 10 offences of criminal damage and arson, and a further seven offences of anti-social behaviour.
Other theft (6), public order (5), ‘other crime’ (4), drugs (3), burglary (3), possession of weapons (2) and robbery (1) were the remaining crimes.
