A new campaign has started to find the best coffee shop that South Cumbria has to offer.

Building upon the success of recent award schemes - with the winner of the Best Curry House 2024 award still to be announced - The Mail is once again asking its readers to get involved with the contest.

The public are now being asked to nominate their favourite places when it comes to that all important part of the day - the caffeine pick-me-up in the morning.

You can put forward the name of your favourite cafe or coffee-based business from across Furness and South Cumbria by using the online platform here.

The window for nomination submissions starts today, running from Monday, November 11 to 11.59pm on Sunday, November 17.

Joy Yates, Newsquest Cumbria regional editor, said: “We have had such a good response to our campaigns to find our readers’ favourite beauty salons, cafes, fish and chip shops and curry houses, and we are now delighted to launch our search for your Best Coffee Shop.

“You have until November 17 to nominate your favourite place to go for everything from cappuccinos and lattes to muffins and cakes.

“Make sure you try to help your go-to coffee shop make our coveted top ten list and nominate right now."

Ten finalists will be selected from your choices, which will be announced in the week commencing Monday, November 18.

That will kickstart two weeks of voting, with each of the finalists vying for your support before the ultimate champion is revealed in December.

To further support the campaign and promote the businesses involved, we will be running a series of features uncovering their stories.

You will be able to vote for your winner from the eventual shortlist by picking up copies of The Mail but, for now, you can show your support by using the online nomination form.
