The next stage of the 'Paint the Town' project in Barrow plans to inject some colour into a local football club.
Organised by BarrowFull, the scheme has been commissioned by, developed, and created alongside local people, aiming to celebrate the many different aspects of the town and enhance the spaces in the area.
This has so far included a series of murals across Portland Walk by the internationally renowned Ian Kirkpatrick and the transformation of the Barrow Deaf Centre.
The Northern Mural Company also took part in the project alongside a number of young people to design a art installation for the skate park in Barrow Park.
BarrowFull are now looking for a new artist to get involved in their latest initiative that will be based at Boyd Park, otherwise known as the Schneider Road Playing Fields.
Currently occupied by Barrow Celtic Juniors Football Club, the main task of the artist will be to celebrate the sporting achievements of the local community as well as the rich natural beauty.
A spokesperson said: "The building is located next to Ormsgill reservoir, home to a variety of wildlife and a place many local people enjoy in their free time.
"We’re looking for someone who can creatively bring these two things together to create something that is impactful for all of the community."
The artist will work with young people aged nine to 14 in the process of designing and creating the work.
