A TEENAGER who caused another person 'serious' injuries after stamping on them in a group attack has been banned from entering a town centre without a parent.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, was sentenced at court for a serious assault alongside other offences.
South Cumbria's youth court heard the teen attempted to cause grievous bodily harm in an incident in Ulverston.
According to court papers, he was involved in an 'unprovoked' sustained group attack that involved stamping, kicking, punching and the victim's head being smashed off a vehicle.
The youth was also convicted of assault offences relating to three incidents before that.
The court heard he assaulted a male in Ulverston in July and later assaulted two police officers in Barrow in September.
He also damaged a police holding cell.
Sentencing him, magistrates imposed a year-long criminal behaviour order, stopping him from entering Ulverston town centre and several parks without a parent or guardian.
He was also banned from being drunk in public over the order.
Magistrates said there was a 'series of escalating offences' that showed a 'pattern of violence' and sentenced him to four months in detention.
Admitting the offences, he was ordered to pay £500 to the victim of the GBH assault.
