AN award-winning letting agent managing properties all over South Cumbria has opened on the high street in Barrow town centre.

Century Lettings, located on Cavendish Street, specialises in helping landlords seek tenants, tenants find a new home or just anybody looking to get involved in property investment.

This year the company scooped the gold winner prize at the British Property Awards for letting agents in Barrow.

He said: “There’s a lot of potential in the town at the moment. There’s been struggles over the last few years but we’re now starting to see a lot more local businesses open up in the town.

“It’s exciting to be opening at this period of time.

“More and more people are coming to Barrow because of the increase in jobs at BAE Systems. Debenhams opening is also going to increase football and make that particular area of town a lot busier hopefully.

“As a result, there’s going to be a big need for a lot more rental properties and managing agents over the next couple of years so I thought why not take the leap.

“Our location on Cavendish Street is key as there are other agents in the area.”

Mr Linton has been trading for around 12 months having started the business remotely but has already employed three members of staff at his office in Barrow, as well as having a couple of tradesmen on the books.

He has a vast amount of experience in the industry having started as a landlord himself in 2017.

“I’ve managed properties throughout the last seven years, so I’m fully aware of the market and the legislations involved,” he added.

"I decided last year that I would start managing properties for other people as well.

“We manage properties all over South Cumbria. Anything from Barrow, Millom and Ulverston. We manage any sort of property – whether that be flat or house."
