THESE are the current road closures affecting motorists in South Cumbria this week.

One is expected to cause delays of at least 30 minutes.

• A590, from 8pm October 14 to 4pm November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Elliscales Roundabout to High and Low Newton Bypass, Lane one closures and traffic signals for Wildflower cut and collect at all sites.

• A590, from 7.30am November 4 to 6.30pm December 2, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A590 northbound and southbound, Lightburn road Swarthmoor, traffic signals and Lane closure for gas mains replacement.

Two other closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M6, from 7am November 11 to 5pm November 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 37, Lane closure and full closures for cattle grid repairs.

• A590, from 6.30pm November 12 to 5am November 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Newby Bridge, traffic Lights for fibrus works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
