PLANS have been lodged to convert a ‘fire damaged’ property in Barrow into a house of multiple occupancy (HMO).
Mr G. Wenner has submitted a planning application to transform a property on 31 Hartington Street into a ten-bedroom house of multiple occupancy.
According to planning documents, the property is currently ‘not habitable’ due to fire damage but proposals involve renovating the building and repairing damage caused to the house.
The design and access statement submitted with the application says there is ‘adequate’ on street parking and states potential occupants do not ‘normally’ own vehicles. It adds there will cycle storage in the front and rear courtyards.
The statement concludes: “The proposed development will be beneficial to the area renovating a fire damaged building and fits with the relevant local plan policies relating to HMOs.”
The planning application is undergoing public consultation.
