A MAN who stole food from a supermarket has been sentenced by a court.
Daryl Mulholland was charged with stealing groceries and meat products from Tesco in Barrow.
The 35-year-old admitted the offence when he appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
Mulholland stole £86 worth of items from the shop on May 25, the court heard..
For the offence, the defendant, of no fixed abode, was fined £40 by the court.
He was also ordered to pay compensation to Tesco to pay for the food he stole.
