A curry house in Ulverston can thank its 'brilliant' service and 'friendly' staff for being nominated for a new award.

Last month, The Mail began its search for the best curry house of 2024 - building on the success of other recent award campaigns.

This saw readers nominate their favourite places when it comes to a bit of spice - with 10 finalists named from those results.

The finalists have been vying for votes from the public for nearly a week now - and you can submit yours by picking up a copy of The Mail before Saturday, November 9.

Running alongside the contest will be a series of special features about each of the nominated businesses celebrating the people who are putting the local area on the food map.

The Mail's 'Best Curry House' award series so far:

In Ulverston, owner Danny Miah has been managing Naaz Indian Cuisine for 18 years and has grown to be such a big hit with locals that he has opened up a second restaurant in Askam in 2024.

Danny took the time to thank the local community for showing its support through the recent award nomination, which left him feeling 'thrilled'.

Found on Queen Street, Naaz has made a name for itself over the past two decades for its combination of good food and stellar service.

One customer wrote: "Couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome.

"Lovely food with a great kids menu - the naans were amazing but all the food was delicious."

Having been a stalwart of the south Cumbrian food scene since 2006, Naaz has given residents plenty of reason to keep returning.

Another local said: "Brilliant service from the minute we walked in, with polite and friendly staff - they went above and beyond.

"The food was amazing and came out really fast - it's the best Indian restaurant in Ulverston."

If you agree and think that Naaz Indian Cuisine is the region's best curry house, then make sure you get your copy of The Mail before November 9.
