A MAN has been ordered by a court to pay nearly £6,000 in child support.
Gage Gelling was brought before magistrates after he failed to pay £5,863.61.
The 29-year-old faced the prospect of jail time or having his driving licence revoked when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
According to court papers, magistrates said he had shown 'culpable neglect' in failing to pay the money.
He was ordered to pay the money plus costs at a rate of £474 a month.
If Gelling, of Long Bank on Walney, defaults on the payment he will face a 42-day suspended prison sentence.
