THERE'S no better way to wrap up a day out on the Lake District fells than by sinking into a cozy pub.

And to help you choose the perfect spot, the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide has released its 52nd edition, with a huge roster of Lake District pubs in the lineup.

It is known as the definitive resource for beer enthusiasts across the UK, featuring 4,500 of the top pubs.

Here are ten pubs that have made the Lake District list:

  • Fox & Hounds Inn, Ennerdale Bridge
  • The Old Crown, Hesket Newmarket
  • Dog & Gun, Keswick
  • Strands Inn, Nether Wasdale
  • Badger Bar (Glen Rothay Hotel), Rydal
  • Ennerdale Brewery, Rowray
  • Golden Rule, Ambleside
  • Coledale Inn, Braithwaite
  • Royal Oak Inn, Cartmel
  • Wainwright, Keswick

Notably, Hesket Newmarket's Crown Inn which made the list received a prestigious CAMRA Gold Medal, recognising over 30 years of featuring in the Good Beer Guide.

Speaking previously, pub landlords Simon Robson and Helen Mumberson, who have run the pub for eight years, said they were 'over the moon' to have won the award which came as a complete 'surprise'.
