A group in Millom is once again supporting an annual event in Ulverston to honour one of their founding members.
The Norman Nicholson Society will be sponsoring the South Cumbria Music Festival (SCMF) for two set-piece poetry recitation classes at next year's event at the Coronation Hall.
This has been done in memory of Peggy Troll, a founding Chair of the collective.
A spokesperson added: "For the last two years we've also been patrons of the festival.
"Nicholson himself was a very gifted boy reciter, famous in Millom and the surrounding area for his dramatic renditions of poetry."
Very pleased to announce that the Norman Nicholson Society is once again sponsoring the South Cumbria Musical Festival...

The set pieces for the Norman Nicholson Poetry Classes are ‘Put on More Coal’ for children up to and including school year six and ‘Wall’ for school years seven to nine.
Copies of the poems are available from the SCMF Entries Secretary, along with notes to help the children understand the pieces and prepare for their performance.
Entries close on January 13 next year, with more details about the festival and how to get involved available here.
