A popular festive community event in south Cumbria has been saved following 'massive' public support.
Last week the Ulverston Rotary Club shared that their annual Santa Run would have to be cancelled due to them not having enough members to make it viable.
However, on Tuesday, October 29, the club announced a much more positive updated that the fundraiser would now be happening after all.
A spokesperson commented: "We've received massive support to the extent where we can say the Santa Runs will go ahead.
"We will be setting up a meeting to organise the volunteers who have already offered to join us, in the near future.
"Thank you so much Ulverston."
The event will see Father Christmas travel throughout the area, raising money for Rotary-sponsored charities in the process.
