A THIEF has been sentenced after he admitted he had stolen over £40 worth of chocolate bars from a discount retail store in Barrow.
Dale Smith, of Worcester Street, Barrow, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to one count of theft from a shop at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on October 23.
With his guilty plea, the 27-year-old conceded he had taken £40.20 worth of chocolate bars from B&M Bargains in Barrow without paying on September 12 this year.
Magistrates ordered Smith to pay every single penny back to the store in compensation.
No order for costs were made.
