FORMER Barrow shipyard workers and veterans are being asked to share their memories and stories as part of a social history project.
This will be for Westmorland and Furness Libraries' memory lane project.
"All kinds of stories, from funny and light-hearted memories to more serious reflections are welcome," a spokesperson said.
The project is designed to help people reminisce and learn about the past, particularly benefiting those who may experience loneliness or isolation, it is said. The library service said that the contributions will be shared through visits to care homes and in community groups.
For those interested in contributing, memories can be shared by email, in person or via letter. Contributions can be made anonymously if preferred, and items of interest or memorabilia may be gifted to the Library Service.
They can contact barrow.library@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk or call 01229 407370 and ask to speak to the Library Outreach Team.
