Ford Park is ready to welcome back runners and visitors this weekend after a development worth over £40,000.

A new perimeter path at the site in Ulverston has been in the works since September, with the team sharing that the weekly park run would be returning on Saturday, October 26 after recent cancellations.

The course for established runners remains unchanged, besides the fact that the muddy conditions have now been replaced with the new track.

The path is designed to benefit a wide range of park users as well as park run participants, including dog walkers and families with young children.

The project was made possible through various sources of funding, including £10,000 from Ulverston BID, £5000 from the Bernard Sunley Foundation, £11,210 from the Ulverston Town Council Community Infrastructure Levy, and £16,000 from the Shared Prosperity Fund via Active Cumbria.

Organisers are now hoping that the new improvements will set the stage for a number of personal bests this weekend.
