A new business in Furness has launched a female football brand that is about ‘more than just fashion’.
As well as clothing and sportswear, Goal Girl aims to create a community of football loving girls and inspire the next generation.
Football-lover, Lewis Corran set up his new business after being inspired by his daughter.
He decided to set up Goal Girl earlier this year, having had the idea to create a female football brand for a while.
Lewis said: “Football has always been my first love and as my youngest daughter has grown into loving football as much as I do, this pushed me to create the brand. Basically, my daughter Maya ended up being the inspiration for me to go for it.”
The brand currently offers hoodies, t-shirts, grip socks, headbands and more, which can all be purchased online, as the website recently went live this month.
Lewis runs Goal Girl alongside his full-time job and is currently working on promoting his brand.
“Interest has been slowly building and we are hoping it is going to carry on,” Lewis said, “We are currently building a small following on Instagram and plan to branch out into other social media apps.”
Lewis shared his plans for the future centre around supporting community of football loving girls.
“We are proud to be putting females first,” Lewis said, “I hope to be able to get into a position where Goal Girl can give back to the local grassroots community and inspire the next generation of girls that love football.
“With the number of talented girls in our area, if Goal Girl can manage to support the girls travelling up and down the motorway every week in the aim of becoming the next Georgia Stanway or Aimee Everett then we would love to be able to help in any way we can.
“I would also love to be able to sponsor local teams and football tournaments in the area.”
