Two fundraising events are being launched by a charity to help people connect with nature in Morecambe Bay.

Morecambe Bay Partnership is running 'Foot to Feast' and 'Nature Through a Lens' events this autumn.

The aim is to raise funds for the charity while showcasing the natural beauty of Morecambe Bay and the businesses that support it.

For the first 'Foot to Feast' event on October 31, the charity is collaborating with NaturesGems Ltd and the Netherwood Hotel & Spa in Grange-over-Sands.

The event, led by NaturesGems Ltd, will include a 5km walking tour up Hampsfell to explore the Bay's landscape, flora, and fauna.

The tour will conclude with a two-course lunch at the Netherwood Hotel, offering views of Morecambe Bay.

Sarah Mason, CEO of Morecambe Bay Partnership, said: "Our 'Foot to Feast' fundraising events are built on the Bay's natural assets of nature, wildlife, and landscape and the opportunity to connect with businesses in the area who champion these elements of Morecambe Bay."

The second event, 'Nature Through a Lens,' will focus on capturing Morecambe Bay's flora and fauna.

Coinciding with autumn's vibrant colours and the bird migration season, this event will explore Arnside Knott through smartphone photography.

To be held on November 7, the 5km walking tour will be led by NaturesGems Ltd and will teach participants smartphone photography skills.

Teresa Kirk, supporter engagement officer for Morecambe Bay Partnership, said: "So many people love to pause and photograph the natural beauty of Morecambe Bay so we’ve created an event for connecting closely with the Bay’s stunning natural environment, and capturing that on just a smartphone.

"With expert guidance, it’s possible to create cherished images, and learn smartphone photography skills to enhance future walks around the Bay."

Both events are open for bookings, but with limited group sizes.

Michelle Cooper, team leader for engagement and fundraising at Morecambe Bay Partnership, said: "The charity are creating a programme of fundraising events with a special atmosphere so only 20-25 tickets are available on each event.

"We want these gatherings to be friendly, intimate experiences where people can connect closely with the nature of Morecambe Bay and have quality interaction with their expert guide or tutor."

All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards supporting the charitable work of Morecambe Bay Partnership.
