A NEW restaurant and takeaway business has opened its doors.

After months of work and overcoming obstacles, Dumbbell Dining is finally open and ‘excited’ to welcome customers.

The new bistro, on Dalton Road, is being brought to life by fitness enthusiasts and co-owners David Poulsen and Tom Allonby.

They promise tasty and healthy food options and have been working with professional nutritionists on a way to provide fresh, calorie and macro-counted breakfast and dinner options on the go.

As both David and Tom work offshore, their chef Mandy Chubb will run the shop day to day as general manager.

David said: “Tom and I are very excited to finally be bringing what we promised the local area.

“Our Phat Weekend taster session went exceptionally well, with great reviews coming back. We are thoroughly excited to be opening full time.”

“There is further exciting news to be released very soon with advancements on the menu, and potential news on Xmas specials with twists," said David.

“With the collaboration at T-Unit already in place, food available on Barrow Eats, further shops looking to collaborate and a website and app in the making we hope to be able to supply the local area for years to come," said David.
