Local history lovers can take a trip back in time and see Barrow through the years at a special event next month.
North West Film Archive will be presenting Furness on Film at the Forum Theatre on Tuesday November 19.
The film will show a special selection of footage exploring the industry, culture and traditions of the Furness and South Cumbria area over the last 120 years.
It features evocative scenes from the shipyard, street life, shopping, sporting occasions and Royal visits to launch the submarine Dreadnought in 1960 and SS Oriana in 1959.
Events and marketing manager Joanne Marwood said: “The screenings will be presented by an expert from the archives, and we are looking forward to an illuminating and interesting delve into the social history of our wonderful town.”
There will be screenings at both 2pm and 7.30pm with the earlier showing supported by BSL and subtitles.
Tickets are available online or by calling the box office on 01229 820000.
