A SECTION of road in Ulverston has closed while works is carried out.
Daltongate Road is anticipated to be shut for up to six days from its junction with King Street, extending in a westerly direction to Stockbridge Lane.
Work started yesterday (October 21) and is expected to remain closed until Friday (October 25).
Alternatives routes for eastbound traffic are via the unrestricted section of Daltongate, County Road, Brewery Street, Fountain Street and King Street.
For westbound traffic, alternative routes include via Queen Street, County Road and the unrestricted section of Daltongate.
Due to the nature of the works, it is not possible to maintain access for pedestrian and dismounted cyclists through the site.
Access for emergency vehicles will not be maintained for the duration of these works.
