CUMBRIA Police have charged a man after around five kilograms of cocaine was recovered following a drugs bust on the M6 in Cumbria.
Officers stopped a white Volkswagen Golf near to Junction 40, Penrith, on October 16.
Police believe the drugs are thought to have a street value of close to half a million pounds.
Anthony Ali, 42, of Fairfield Grove, Bradford, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug – cocaine.
He is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court today (18 October).
The seizure forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
