A new business has launched in south Cumbria looking to help people 'thrive' in their communities.
The Lakeland Home Help Company, based in Ulverston, began operating last month and covers the surrounding areas including Greenodd, Penny Bridge, Bardsea, Urswick, Lindal and Dalton.
The business offers a range of services including companionship, assistance with shopping, light housework, dog walking, food preparation, decluttering, and event chaperones.
A spokesperson explained: "We are a small team with years of experience in adult social care, community work and domestic services.
"We are aimed at providing companionship and assistance to your everyday life.
"Whether you or your family member need help with shopping, attending hospital appointments, enjoying a visit to a cafe, or tidying your home, the list is endless and we are happy to discuss ways we can help you."
Home visits provided by the company are for a minimum of one hour, with the team offering visits for half days or full days.
"The business was started by a qualified social worker, and our aim is to help people thrive in their own homes and in the community," said a spokesman.
"We recognise that there are many people in the community who need assistance with day-to-day tasks, including attending appointments, shopping, housework, gardening, and DIY.
"In addition, maintaining hobbies, friendships and engaging in social opportunities can become very difficult - we know that family members sometimes need assistance in order to have a break and we can help with this by providing companionship."

All 'Home Helpers' have DBS checks and are fully insured.
"One of our popular services is assisting with shopping - we can drive you to the shops, help you get the things you need, then assist you to put it all away once home," the spokesman added:
"This enables you to retain your independence whilst having some company and help to do this - this can be really positive for overall wellbeing."
