A Halloween event this weekend will be putting young swimmers from across the region to the test.
The Halloween Sprint Meet of 2024 will take place at Barrow Park Leisure Centre on Saturday, October 19 and has been organised by the Barrow Amateur Swimming Club.
Entry for swimmers, coaches and team managers will open at 12.30pm, with competitors coming from Barrow, Carnforth, Copeland, Ulverston, Penrith and Cockermouth.
Spectators will be able to arrive at 1.30pm at a cost of £5 for adults and £3 for children, with the gala itself starting at 2.15pm.
The event, as well as promoting local talent, is also designed to raise money for the club, and a raffle will be held to encourage donations.
The Leisure Centre café will be open for refreshments and a sweet stall will also be available.
