A STRIKING sculpture made of guns and knives is due to visit Barrow to stand against violence.

The Manchester Bee sculpture, created using thousands of weapons, will be on display in the town throughout November.

The monument is made from weapons including knives and guns collected from the streets of Manchester.

Having originally been situated in the city, the bee is now touring the UK to offer anti-violence education.

The 3.3 metre sculpture will be displayed outside Barrow Town Hall.

Community project Drop Zone said educational sessions would be taking place with secondary school pupils while the imposing structure is in the town.

It will build on the work of the Knife Angel, a sculpture made up of thousands of seized knives, which visited Barrow in 2022.
