A group of women from Barrow have put a local hospice one step closer to realising its refurbishment goals.

Members of the 'Lookin Good and Feelin Great' team visited St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston to hand over a cheque worth £2,000.

The hospice explained that this money will go directly to their Phase Two development, which has so far included improvements to areas such as the main entrance at the site.

A spokesperson added: "Their generous donation is a testament to their incredible fundraising efforts through bingo nights, fairs, and coffee mornings.

"It's heartwarming to know that some of their members have benefited from our services too.

"Thank you for your amazing support - you are truly amazing."

'Lookin Good and Feelin Great', whilst based in Barrow, works across the whole of Furness providing support for people going through a cancer diagnosis and their loved ones.
