The nights are getting longer, the air is getting colder and spooky season is right around the corner...

With October 31 fast approaching, we’re getting into the spirit of Halloween.

To find out what our readers have planned for the celebration, we asked you how it’s going with the decorations.

From ghosts to skeletons and spiders to tombstones, we’ve seen lots of your fabulous pictures, showing how you’ve transformed your homes into the stuff of nightmares.

We reached out to one reader who seemed to have gone all out with the spooky decorations and shared a video of her house.

Pauline Kelly, from Barrow, puts up a big Halloween display outside her house at 107 Worcester Street every year.

As well as fairy lights, pumpkins and a colourful autumn wreath on the front door, the garden has inflatable characters, including a Frankenstein's monster, spooky ghost and a cute black cat sat on top of a pumpkin.

While she ‘loves’ all the holidays, Halloween is not her favourite holiday. Pauline said she prefers Christmas, which she also decorates the garden for.

“I just like seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces,” she said. “It didn't cost much if I'm honest, the ghost was bought a few years back from Facebook,  the little monster is from Aldi and the cat and smaller ghosts are from Amazon and Shein, I just built it up over the years.”

Pauline said it didn’t take long to put everything up. With help from her daughter Laura, decorating took about an hour.
