A woman was rescued at a popular Lake District walking spot today (October 14).
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at around 1pm following a report of an injured woman at Tarn Hows.
Eleven team members responded to the incident which took one hour and 40 mins.
A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue Team said: "She had slipped and injured her ankle, and unable to weight bear. Fortunately we were able to drive straight to her.
"The lady was assessed and her ankle splinted, after which she was driven the short distance to the car park. A member of her walking party then drove her to hospital."
Conditions were described as sunny and clear.
