THE organisation that owns the Pelican of London, a tall ship docked in Barrow, has put out an appeal for volunteers as it enters its maintenance period.

Charity Seas Your Future is getting the vessel shipshape in the Town Quay ahead of its voyages in the 2025 spring and summer seasons.

“We’re excited to take this opportunity to invest in the Pelican, preparing her for an incredible year ahead,” said Seas Your Future chief executive officer Adrian Ragbourne.

“By focusing on maintenance now, we’ll be ready to provide an unforgettable experience for all those joining us on board next year."
