A pub in Barrow has 'battened down the hatches' as it closes its doors for the winter months.
The Ship Inn on Piel Island shared on Sunday, October 13 that it was no longer open due to the change in weather conditions.
This came after the Piel Ferry, which connects the island to the mainland, announced that it would not be running again until March with the conditions 'starting to turn against us'.

The owners of The Ship Inn said: "With the summer weather coming to an end, it’s time for us to batten down the hatches for winter.
"We would like to thank the ferry service for providing us with so many lovely visitors from far and wide, thank you all for your support this year.
"For those with your own boats who brave the calmer winter days, if you are passing and fancy a pint please give us a call."
