A hotel in Barrow has saved 1,000 meals from the bin across the past year in their fight against food waste.
The team at Holiday Inn Express on Market Street revealed that they had reached the milestone on Wednesday, October 9.
The Barrow branch has been getting involved in the 'Too Good To Go' campaign, an international scheme designed to reduce the amount of food that goes to waste.
The initiative works by encouraging businesses to sell surplus food at a discounted price, with locals then able to take advantage of the deal.
The hotel has been donating all the proceeds to Mental Health UK, which has helped them raise over £7000 in the last two years.
A spokesperson said: "We are thrilled with how much we have saved from going to waste since we started a year ago.
"Our 1000th collection also received a voucher for a complimentary buffet breakfast for two on us as a thank you."
